Where to find your VIN

Bottom corner of the windscreen, on the driver's side — visible from outside.
On a sticker inside the driver's door frame.
On your insurance certificate or vehicle registration.

What this can and can't tell you

We decode your VIN, then show every recall on record for that make, model and year. What we can't see is whether your particular car has already had the work done — only the manufacturer holds that. If a recall shows here, ring any franchised dealer with your VIN and they'll tell you in a minute whether it's outstanding.

Recall repairs are free by law, however old the vehicle is and whether or not you're the original owner. There's no deadline.
