Headlights that are excessively bright can reduce visibility for oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
The upper headlight beam may be too bright and exceed the maximum light output, which may adversely affect the vision of the driver. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
